Saphineia has had an exciting few months. In addition to completing some of our most impactful work to date, we are thrilled to share that we have added several seasoned food & beverage manufacturing practitioners to the Saphineia team.
These personnel additions bring our team to 18 strong, add capability breadth and depth in key focus areas, and reflect increased demand for Saphineia’s support on large, complex projects that require broad, cross-functional expertise (e.g. M&A integrations, plant consolidations and large capital projects).

- David Atherton: 30+ year Unilever veteran in various senior global engineering, manufacturing and quality roles. Dave adds to Saphineia’s expertise in enhancing equipment reliability, as well as capital project execution and quality systems.
- Dennis Averill: 30+ years at Unilever, Kimberly-Clark and SC Johnson in senior global safety, health & environment roles. Dennis also brings significant Lean/TPM experience and is a Shingo Award winning author.
- Bill Popper: 25+ years in IT Executive/CIO roles at various PE backed and non-PE backed companies. Bill also brings significant M&A planning & integration experience.
- Rock Thakkar: 30+ years of supply chain and operations experience at leading consumer and industrial manufacturers. Rock adds valuable expertise in S&OP processes as well as Lean supply chain management.
- Jodi Horon: 25+ years beverage R&D, including 9 years at Kerry Foods. Jodi specializes in sensory evaluation, product development, and transitioning production from bench-to-scale. Jodi brings deep skills in commercialization processes.
- Bill McKee: 40+ years in senior HR roles in manufacturing, including HR Director at Griffith Foods and Unilever Bestfoods. Bill has deep experience with both union and non-union work forces, as well as acquisition and divestiture/shut down activities.
- Andra Schwab: 30+ years of experience in complex project management, driving cross-functional change and operational improvement at the intersection of people, process, and technology. Most recently Andra was with Brightfarms, Inc..
